| Abstract Scope |
Ti-Fe-Mn alloys possess excellent hydrogen storage properties and are widely used in fields such as fuel cells. In this study, TiO₂、Fe₂O₃ and MnO₂ were used as cathode materials, and a thermodynamic analysis was conducted on the process of preparing Ti-Fe-Mn alloys via the molten salt electro-deoxidation method within the temperature range of 873 K to 1273 K.As O2-ions are removed, they accumulate at the solid–liquid interface and react with Ca2+ ions in the molten salt to form the intermediate phases CaFe₂O₄,CaFe₃O₅, and CaTiO₃。Under electrochemical driving forces, the reduction pathway for the manganese component is(MnO₂ → Mn₂O₃→Mn₃O₄→MnO→Mn);the reduction pathway for the iron component is(Fe₂O₃/CaFe₂O₄→Fe₃O₄/CaFe₃O₅ →FeO → Fe);the reduction pathway for the titanium component is(TiO₂/CaTiO₃ →Ti₃O₅ →Ti₂O₃→TiO → Ti),ultimately forming a Ti-Fe-Mn alloy. |
