| Abstract Scope |
The mechanical properties of ductile iron are strongly dependent on graphite morphology and matrix microstructure. This study investigates the effects of electropulsing treatment (EPT) under different peak currents on the microstructure and mechanical properties of QT400 ductile iron. Microstructural characterization, graphite morphology analysis, hardness measurements, and tensile tests were conducted to evaluate the influence of pulse current. The results show that increasing the peak current changes the size, number, and distribution of graphite nodules, accompanied by matrix microstructural evolution. Meanwhile, the tensile strength increases with increasing pulse current intensity, indicating that electropulsing treatment effectively improves the mechanical properties of QT400 ductile iron by regulating both the graphite phase and the matrix microstructure. These findings provide a theoretical basis for optimizing electropulsing modification of ductile iron. |
