Abstract Scope |
Understanding the behavior of bubbles at interfaces is critical for predicting radiation-induced degradation in advanced materials. This study utilizes in-situ transmission electron microscopy to investigate the nucleation and growth kinetics of helium and krypton bubbles formed at Cu/Ag interfaces during ion implantation at elevated temperature. Real-time observations allow for the tracking of individual bubble radii over time. The measured growth data are analyzed and compared against several theoretical models representing different potential rate-limiting physical mechanisms. This approach provides a framework for assessing bubble growth kinetics and identifying dominant physical mechanisms. |
