Abstract Scope |
Metal corrosion poses significant challenges in industries , impacting technical , financial and environmental aspects . While synthetic corrosion inhibitors protect steel , the focus has shifted to green corrosion inhibitors , sustainable materials that reduce corrosion and enhance concrete durability .This article reviews diverse green inhibitors , aiming to identify gaps and trends in sustainable corrosion management . It categorizes environmentally friendly inhibitors ,proposing selection criteria based on sustainability . Natural corrosion inhibitors offers a promising, cost effective , and sustainable solution for extending the service life of reinforced concrete structures . However further investigation is needed to assess their technical properties and effectiveness under combined corrosive attacks . This study guides future research in civil engineering and corrosion management , contributing to sustainable progress and providing practitioners with insights into emerging green corrosion inhibitors |
