| Abstract Scope |
The rational design of polymer-derived ceramics (PDCs) demands systematic comparison of preceramic polymer (PCP) descriptors across a rapidly growing literature. This work presents a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipeline that automatically extracts structured PCP descriptors including: elemental composition, molecular architecture, bonding structure, pyrolysis parameters, microstructural outcomes, and mechanical properties, from large PDF corpora into a unified PDC Genome database.A frequency and gap analysis module identifies which descriptor categories are well-characterized versus critically underreported. The current system reveals systematic gaps in crosslink density, backbone conformation, and mechanical property reporting relative to thermal and compositional data. |
