Presentation Title Lifecycle Assessment Case Study for Electrified Gold Mining Operations
Author(s) Thomas Bradley
On-Site Speaker (Planned) Thomas Bradley
Abstract Scope Mining operations electrification has emerged as a key technology for improving the sustainability, local impacts, and economic efficiency of the global mining industry. This project presents a case study for an example gold mining operation’s conversion to electrified mining operations including on-site power generation, mining vehicle electrification, and more. Through comparative lifecycle assessments, this study quantifies the costs and benefits of electrification for this case, and with discussion of implications for other global mining operations.
