Abstract Scope |
Among all investigated high-entropy alloys, only a small minority crystallizes in a truly single-phase structure. A rather new example of this group is VMnFeCoNi, which is, considering its composition, close to the Cantor alloy, with the difference that Cr is substituted with V. The impact of severe plastic deformation on the Cantor alloy has been intensively studied over the years, and here the question arises whether the substitution of Cr with V leads to substantial differences in the severe deformation process and thermal stability of the alloy. In this contribution, we will present the impact of severe plastic deformation using high-pressure torsion on the microstructure and annealing behavior of VMnFeCoNi and will compare it with existing results for the Cantor alloy. |
