Abstract Scope |
Hybrid Directed Energy Deposition provides the simultaneous advantages of additive manufacturing and subtractive manufacturing, this fabrication process provides unobstructed viewing of an object during fabrication with viewing of each layer. With the correct calibration data of a camera, a layer number, and the intended geometry (STL) of the structure, a region of interest can be generated to allow for focused analysis of the current layer. By gathering positional and referential data from ArUco markers, we’re able to position the created contours for the intended geometry with the correct posture and angle for an accurate analysis of the complex figure. This software can be applied for identification of potential defects in specific layers, in addition to computer vision process monitoring in order to generate a diagnosis of problems found during fabrication. |
