Abstract Scope |
In the field of aeroengine, we think that the current definition of titanium microstructure anomalies and the assessment of their impact on part life may be too conservative. This may be due to the limitations of capability of past inspection and design tools. Now, with the latest technology, we can inspect and evaluate titanium anomalies more accurately. Our project aims to digitally redefine titanium anomalies using the latest technology, apply it to simulations to predict and detect the occurrence, survival of titanium anomalies in material manufacturing, inspection, and part processing, and connect them to the life assessment of the final product, improving all of the quality, cost and delivery in production. In this presentation, we will show an example of an evaluation method for the life assessment of the redefined titanium anomalies. Results for Ti-64 will be presented here as it is a widely used alloy. |
