| Abstract Scope |
The Ni-Ge-Sb and Cu-Ni-Ge systems are important material systems with applications in electronic packaging, diffusion barrier technologies, thermoelectric materials, and other functional materials. Reliable phase equilibrium information is essential for understanding phase relationships and supporting the development of advanced functional materials. The phase equilibria of these two material systems were experimentally determined at 800 °C and 600 °C. In the Ni-Ge-Sb system, five and nine three-phase regions were identified at 800 °C and 600 °C, respectively. Significant ternary solubilities were observed, with Ni5Ge3 exhibiting high Sb solubility and NiSb exhibiting high Ge solubility. In the Cu-Ni-Ge system, four and six three-phase regions were observed at 800 °C and 600 °C, respectively. Ni5Ge3 exhibited a Cu solubility exceeding 30 at.% at both temperatures. Additionally, one continuous solid solution phase, (Co,Ni), was identified. |
