| Abstract Scope |
Tensile tests have been performed on an AA7075 Al alloy to investigate the anisotropic behavior of such alloy. Using Digital image correlation measurements, the influence of the loading orientation on the yield stresses, the Lankford’s coefficients, and localization of deformation is investigated. The results show that the minimum r-value is obtained along the rolling direction, while the maximum r-value is obtained for the transverse direction, its value being double the minimum r-value. The strongly anisotropic mechanical behavior in the plastic regime of this alloy is modeled using various orthotropic models. The predictive capabilities of these models are assessed and insights into the forming of this alloy are provided. |
