Abstract Scope |
Synchrotron sources have been used to investigate materials that exhibit emergent and/or enhanced properties and functionalities. This invited talk will present a few of the latest synchrotron-based spectroscopy, imaging and scattering methods and their study of emergent materials for energy applications. Specifically, materials to be studied include molten salts, gas separation membranes, solid oxide/electrolysis cells, and ceramic waste forms. This work is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Nuclear Energy University Program and Energy Frontier Research Centers, the Army Research Office, and the National Science Foundation. |
