| Abstract Scope |
Key issues and advances made by the author over the past four decades in collaboration with students and other colleagues are summarized. These include cyclic plasticity theory and models (1983-1995), plasticity models applied to fatigue of hierarchical alloy microstructures (1996-present), finite deformation plasticity and incompatibility mechanics (1993-2014), atomistic modeling of dislocations and interfaces (2005-2015), shock plasticity (2010-2014), computational data science and materials design (2008-present), generalized continuum plasticity and coarse-grained atomistic modeling of dislocations (2004-present), and nonequilibrium statistical thermodynamics of thermally activated dislocation ensembles (2024-present). |
