| Abstract Scope |
The integration of energy harvesting and storage offers a promising route toward self-sustainable wearable electronics. Herein, we report a flexible, all-solid-state self-powered asymmetric supercapacitor (SPASC) comprising a NiS–SnS heterostructure positive electrode, a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) negative electrode, and an electrospun poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membrane that functions as both the separator and piezoelectric energy harvester. Under mechanical deformation, the PVDF generates a piezoelectric potential that drives ion transport, enabling self-charging without a rectifier. The assembled SPASC delivers a specific capacitance of 140 F g⁻¹ over a 1.5 V operating window and an energy density of 45.3 Wh kg⁻¹. The device retains 81% of its initial capacitance after 5000 charge–discharge cycles and self-charges to 135 mV within 240 s, demonstrating its potential as a sustainable power source for wearable and portable electronics. |
