Abstract Scope |
With a global population of approximately 8 billion, a diverse array of opinions emerges, often influenced by misinformation or misrepresented facts. On the one hand, there are scientists who have dedicated years to studying the Earth’s climate, while on the other hand, lie the ultracrepidarians. Hence, given the severity of the impending crisis of irreversible damage caused by anthropogenic climate change, it becomes crucial to adeptly convey this urgency to the public, particularly in an age where billions of gigabytes of data are generated daily. This presentation endeavors to underscore several key factors for effective outreach derived from over five years of the main presenter’s experience in outreach efforts. The aforementioned factors are by no means exhaustive, and the goal of this presentation is to foster discussions, share experiences, etcetera, that could ultimately facilitate the effective and accurate communication of the climate crisis to a broader audience. |
