Abstract Scope |
The presentation focuses on utilization of physics-based model and machine learning tools at Collins Aerospace to industrialize additive manufacturing process. A holistic framework has been developed and exercised to optimize the additive manufacturing process parameter, following towards development of process-structure-property relationship. Thin features with as-built surfaces are investigated as part of this effort. A crystal plasticity-based framework has been used to aid this effort and investigate effect of surface debit. The framework also includes optimization of depowdering process for crack avoidance, while considering the effect of residual stress. Furthermore, machine learning framework has been developed to optimize surface roughness features at different overhang angles. |
