| Abstract Scope |
I will review our studies of several heterogenous semi-coherent interfaces beyond the classical Cu-Nb case. The first case is the semi-coherent Al/a-Al2O3 interfaces using molecular dynamics simulations with a mixed, metallic-ionic atomistic model. The second case is the metamorphic Al/Si (111) interface, which is important for emerging technologies such as quantum materials. The third case is Fe based bi-metallic interfaces, where dislocation impingement and slip transfer were investigated in a systematic way. The fourth case is understanding of the interfaces between WBe2 intermetallic and W, an important topic in the fusion energy science. I will highlight the common materials science as well as the uniqueness in each case. |
