| Abstract Scope |
Thermo-mechanical control processing (TMCP) during steel rolling has become a common routine since the last six decades. Mechanisms such as work hardening, static and dynamic recrystallization, grain growth, precipitation have been studied extensively. In this paper, the occurrence of dynamic transformation of ferrite (DTF) in the austenite temperature range is detected by means of synchrotron light X-ray diffraction methods. The effect of DTF on TMCP process is taken into consideration and compared with metallurgical mechanisms previous proposed. |
