| Abstract Scope |
Beta Ti-Fe alloys produced via Direct Energy Deposition (DED) offer a promising combination of strength and processability, but their mechanical properties are highly dependent on post-fabrication heat treatments. This study investigates the influence of aging heat treatment on the microstructure, phase evolution, and mechanical behaviour of DED-processed Ti-Fe alloys. Samples were subjected to solution treatment followed by aging at varying temperatures and holding times to optimize precipitation hardening.
microstructural analysis revealed the formation of fine alpha precipitates within the beta matrix. |
