| Abstract Scope |
To achieve the directional regulation of mineral phases and high-value utilization of steel slag, this study proposes a high-temperature modification strategy using carbonates as modifiers, and its feasibility was verified through thermodynamic analysis. The results show that, compared with the systems without modifiers or with Li2CO3 or K2CO3 as modifiers, Na2CO3 exhibits the most significant promoting effect on the mineral phase reconstruction of steel slag. Under Na2CO3 modification, the iron-bearing phases in steel slag, including the RO phase and Ca2Fe2O5, are transformed into magnetic iron oxides, which are enriched in the slag. Meanwhile, the original f-CaO in steel slag and the CaO released from mineral phase dissociation further react with CO2 to form CaCO3. This work provides a new technical route for the high-value resource utilization of steel slag. |
