| Abstract Scope |
In the iron ore sintering process, the high-temperature sinter cake is typically cooled in an annular cooler. This process generates a substantial volume of high-temperature exhaust gas, which is conventionally utilized in waste heat boilers for steam generation. This study investigated the underlying causes of the persistently low efficiency observed in such waste heat recovery systems. It was identified that dust-induced abrasion on the fan impellers necessitated a reduction in operating frequency, which ultimately led to a decrease in waste heat recovery efficiency. Additionally, the inherent instability of the waste heat source further exacerbated the issue. Through comprehensive system retrofitting and optimization of the sintering process, the level of waste heat utilization was significantly improved. Consequently, the specific steam recovery rate increased from 50.94 kg/t to 112.30 kg/t, achieving highly efficient heat utilization throughout the sintering process. |
