Abstract Scope |
As one of the methods for joining between V-alloy and austenitic stainless steel SUS316L, friction stir welding (FSW) was employed and the sound dissimilar joints can be successively fabricated. However, the physical phenomena during FSW of the dissimilar joint has not been revealed. In this study, a new particle method based on MPS (Moving Particle Semi-implicit) has been developed and this method was applied to examine the effects of FSW conditions on the joinability of V-alloy/SUS316L dissimilar joint. The serial computations suggest that the rotational speed of FSW tool has a larger influence on the heat generation than the traveling speed and it has a good coincident with our previous experimental results. In addition, the effect of FSW tool position on the stirring behavior will be discussed. |
