| Abstract Scope |
The development of heat-resistant aluminum alloys is critical for lightweight structural applications. In this study, we report that the addition of Mn significantly enhances the high-temperature strength of Al–Ca alloys, maintaining high strengths even under prolonged thermal exposure. Microstructural observations suggest that Mn increases the elastic modulus of the Al₄Ca phase, thereby improving the rigidity and mechanical integrity of the eutectic network. The alloy exhibits remarkable thermal resistance, without significant degradation after long-term annealing at elevated temperatures. These results demonstrate the potential of Mn-modified Al–Ca alloys as a new class of thermally stable structural materials and provide new perspectives for the microstructural design of heat-resistant aluminum alloys. |
