Abstract Scope |
Ferroelectric materials are characterized by excellent physical properties, including high dielectric permittivity, high spontaneous polarization and high piezoelectric coefficients, making them promising materials to be used in several technological areas. However, due to new environmental policies, compounds that contain lead and other heavy elements in their compositions have been restricted for practical applications. As a result, new materials have been studied as an alternative to materials those lead-based compounds. In this work, lead-free ceramic samples based on the Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3–K0.5Bi0.5TiO3 (NKBT) system were obtained by the solid-state reaction sintering method. The physical properties were explored considering the influence of the Sn4+ cation concentration. In particular, the structural characteristics and electrical response have been investigated from the X-ray diffraction technique and dielectric analysis, respectively.
