| Abstract Scope |
Off-gas generated from iron and steel making process were important secondary energy sources in steel plants. However, the generation and consumption of off-gas suffered from fluctuations due to the change pf operation conditions of various furnaces. Gasholder served as buffer units to reduce the temporary imbalance. However, the capacity of gasholder was limited, and the transient behavior made the management of holders complex and challenging. Under coarse management, long-standing issues such as off-gas flaring and shortage limited the plant’s potential for energy cost reduction and efficiency improvement. This paper studied the trends and challenges of off-gas prediction and scheduling and proposed an integrated framework of off-gas generation, consumption, and gasholder level forecasting and scheduling. Leveraging metallurgical models and data-driven techniques, it accurately forecasts key indicators hours ahead. The proposed framework was suitable to support intelligent and stable off-gas management in steel enterprises. |
