| Abstract Scope |
The problem of as-cast 3rd Generation AHSS cracking at around 400°C has been reported by steel plants but is not fundamentally understood. Previous work has extensively studied the low temperatures (less than 700°C) cracking behavior and no specific influencing factors have been identified. Continuation of high-temperature investigation is necessary to observe if high-temperature phase transformations can impact the cracking behavior as pre-exisiting defects may lead to low-temperature cracking. In this work, varying concentrations of Mn, Si and Al are studied and analyzed using high-temperature confocal scanning laser microscope (HT-CSLM). |
