| Abstract Scope |
In this study, an efficient method for synthesizing Li2S through the sulfidation of LiOH using H2S (g) was investigated. H2S (g) was generated by reacting 50–90 % H2–Ar gas mixture with molten S at 473–623 K and was subsequently reacted with LiOH at 473–573 K. When the conversion of LiOH to Li2S was analyzed, H2S (g) supply was increased with increasing the reaction temperature and H2 (g) concentration. In addition, the conversion of LiOH to Li2S increased with increasing sulfidation temperature, reaction time, and H2S (g) supply. Under certain conditions, the conversion efficiency reached 94 % when H2S (g) was generated at 623 K using 90 % H2–Ar gas mixture and the sulfidation was conducted at 573 K. These results demonstrated the feasibility of efficiently producing Li2S from LiOH using H2S (g) generated through the reaction of H2 (g) with molten S. |
