| Abstract Scope |
Solid electrolytes (SEs) are urgently required as key components of lithium (Li) metal solid-state batteries (SSBs). However, the limited physical contact between the SE and cathode cause significant interfacial issues and thus interrupted charge transport and large resistance at the interface. In order to address the interfacial issues, a low-melting point Li ion SE can be introduced into the cathode through heating cathode/SE composites at low temperatures to avoid side reactions between SE and cathode active materials. These features would facilitate intimate interfacial contact with reduced external pressure. In this study, we introduce a novel low-melting point Li ion SE with the melting point below 160 oC, which shows high Li ion conductivity (>0.001 S/cm) and high stability with cathode NMC811 after composition optimization. The mechanisms are deeply understood by advanced characterizations. |
