Abstract Scope |
ATI recently developed a novel nickel-based superalloy (ATI 1700TM) with improved high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and environmental durability compared to numerous existing state-of-the-art superalloys. ATI 1700TM is readily fabricable via additive manufacturing (both laser powder bed fusion and directed energy deposition), enabling modernized components with a high degree of geometric complexity and fit for extended service in extreme environments. Powder production, additive manufacturing process development, and thermo-mechanical properties of ATI 1700TM will be presented. Application spaces that will benefit most from high performance additively manufactured products of ATI 1700TM include aerospace, transportation, defense, and power generation. |
