Abstract Scope |
Advanced single crystalline γ’ strengthened Co-base superalloys with at least nine alloying elements and well balanced mechanical and oxidation properties have been developed and investigated. The influence of Re, Ti and Ta on phase stability, mechani-cal and thermophysical properties in this multinary alloys was determined. A γ’ solvus temperature up to 1174 °C and γ’ volume fractions between 40 % and 60 % at 1050 °C could be achieved. A full set of elastic constants of one of the alloys is presented which result in a higher Young’s modulus, compared to conventional Ni-base superalloys. Creep properties were investigated at 900 °C and 1050 °C in <001> direc-tion. Detailed investigations on the creep mechanisms of the Re containing alloy showed that precipitates were sheared already during early stages of creep, revealing that the addition of Re did not improve the mechanical properties. |
