Abstract Scope |
This work demonstrates the fabrication of planar memristor devices on flexible substrates using multi-material aerosol jet printing (AJP). Silver nanoparticle ink is printed to define the electrodes, and titanium dioxide (TiO₂) ink is deposited sequentially as the switching layer without requiring substrate handling. DC voltage sweeps are performed to confirm resistive switching behavior with distinct ON and OFF states. Additional characterization includes endurance cycling to assess switching stability, retention measurements to evaluate non-volatile state preservation, and mechanical bending tests to examine switching reliability under cyclic strain. Devices are bent to controlled radii, and electrical measurements are taken afterward to assess changes in switching performance. The influence of AJP process parameters on feature integrity and device performance is examined. Results show that AJP enables practical fabrication of flexible, mechanically resilient memristive systems for system-on-plastic applications. |
