| Abstract Scope |
Leveraging computational and human resources efficiently in the numerical solution of phase-field equations is crucial for accurate simulations of increasingly complex models with coupled physics. In the latest version of the PRISMS-PF open-source framework (v4.0), we focused on ease of use, performance, and maintainability. We discuss some of the salient performance improvements and ease of use in this version, including coupled solves, improved modularity, and adaptive time-stepping schemes. Other new features include curated application documentation, extensive assertion guarding, improved grain reassignment, and preliminary GPU support. In addition, we discuss some of the recent publicly available PRISMS-PF applications, including the implicit Cahn-Hilliard equation, solidification coupled with fluid flow, static recrystallization, crack propagation, and an integrated AI-assisted Microstructure Model BuildER (AMMBER) tool that allows for automated parametrization of phase-field models for microstructure evolution. |
