Abstract Scope |
Nordic Salt Cycle is developing a novel molten salt based process for recycling Li-ion batteries. Our technology takes advantage of the ability of molten salts to effectively break down materials, enabling a very simple separation and recovery process with a small physical and environmental footprint. In this paper we detail how we can recover target critical materials from various black mass chemistries, achieving yields and product purities compatible with conventional LIB value chains. We will also discuss the positive impacts of our process on upstream and downstream processes, both technologically and economically. |
