| Abstract Scope |
Aiming at the low resource utilization rate and high environmental load caused by stockpiling magnesium reduction slag, this paper proposes an integrated acid leaching-purification-electro-conversion carbonization process and develops an asymmetric electro-conversion device. Electro-conversion experiments are carried out using purified CaCl₂ solution derived from acid leaching of magnesium slag. The effects of multiple parameters on the electro-conversion process are systematically investigated, and a process system for indirect synthesis of CaCO₃ by preparing Ca(HCO₃)₂ under high gas flow rates is established. The experimental results show that the average power consumption for CaCO₃ preparation is 2.76 kW·h/kg with a current efficiency of 93.8%. Each ton of magnesium slag can sequester 0.44 t of CO₂ and produce 1.05 t of light CaCO₃, achieving an economic benefit of approximately 70 US dollars. This process changes the traditional disposal mode of magnesium slag and provides technical support for the resource utilization of metallurgical solid waste. |
