| Abstract Scope |
Oxide perovskites offer a promising route to viable photoferroelectric applications. The lead-free ceramic AgNbO₃ exhibits a number of active, functional responses to external stimuli allowing for the development of multifunctional devices. The desirable properties of AgNbO₃ intensify at and near other phases that are not stable at room temperature. Understanding the correlation between AgNbO₃ crystal phases, and functional properties is essential to its effective use and the development of further photoferroelectrics of the ABO₃ perovskite structure. In this work, we will use selected peak fitting and Rietveld refinement to investigate the crystal structure change of AgNbO₃ across the temperature range (-127 °C-500 °C). The observed variation in crystal structure will be correlated with macroscopic functional properties. With this data, a comprehensive phase diagram of AgNbO₃ can be created. |
