| Abstract Scope |
Multifunctionality and the demand for improved material properties make it necessary to leave the mono-material approach and combine them to realize composite structures, such as combinations of metals with polymers.
This presentation provides an overview of metal-polymer-metal sandwiches and their applications, from automotive to biomedical. These sandwiches are designed for their mechanical and thermal properties, workability, etc.
A brief history of sandwiches - developed at IMET TU Clausthal - used in the automotive and biomedical sectors is presented.
This presentation emphasizes the great contribution that Professor Palkowski has made and is still making in this field. Palkowski is a world expert in this field. |
