Agility Forge is a robotic open-die forging platform that records temperature, force, displacement, hit count, and rotation histories during deformation, enabling process-aware characterization of forged parts. In this work, a phantom bar—an archetypical benchmark artifact containing box, cylinder, cone, and sphere geometries—was forged to generate location-specific thermomechanical histories within a single part. This work extends our prior phantom-bar study by adding coupon-level compression testing to the existing process-history, microstructure, and hardness framework. Post-forging characterization includes hardness, microhardness, optical microscopy, and compression testing of coupons extracted from known locations and orientations. The measured histories are used as boundary conditions for history-anchored simulations, enabling reconstruction of local deformation, microstructure, and property variation through a Model-Based Material Definition framework. By integrating compression response with spatially resolved microstructural and hardness measurements, this work strengthens the verification and validation loop and advances qualification-oriented assessment of complex forged geometries. |
