Abstract Scope |
Crystallographic texture is a rich data source which encodes the effects of alloy composition and process history on the deformation behavior of an alloy. For example, the extent of basal pole splitting during rolling—which is often affected by Mg alloy additions—can be directly related to the activity of pyramidal <c+a> slip. In this talk, we use ODFs reconstructed from published pole figure images for a variety of Mg alloys and processes as the basis for a texture-informed, crystal plasticity-based optimization process to predict the average slip and twinning parameters based on a published texture. The relationships between alloying, processing, and specific texture features are further explored. |
