| Abstract Scope |
High-purity MnCl2 is a critical precursor for the production of high-purity electrolytic manganese, lithium manganese oxide cathode materials, and magnetic materials. In this work, the ease of separating chloride impurities from MnCl2 was systematically analyzed using thermodynamic parameters, including melting point, boiling point, saturated vapor pressure, and the β criterion, as well as kinetic indicators such as evaporation rate. At 650~900 ℃ and a system pressure of 10 Pa, impurities excluding alkali and alkaline-earth metals were diminished to below 50 ppm, with removal efficiencies surpassing 90%. Elevated distillation temperatures accelerated evaporation efficiency yet concurrently increased impurity concentrations. This study aims to overcome the limitations of conventional purification processes for manganese chloride, offering an innovative pathway toward green and efficient purification. |
