| Abstract Scope |
With the support from the ARPA-E ULTIAMTE program, a team composed of scientists from Pennsylvania State University, National Energy Technology Lab, and Oak Ridge National Lab has been working on a project titled “Design, Manufacturing, and Characterization of Ultrahigh Temperature Refractory Alloys (ULTERA) for Turbine Applications”. Through this four-year Phase 1 and Phase 2 project, the team developed a group of new alloys that meet most of the ULTIMATE program targets and filed a provisional invention application. In this presentation, the team members will be introduced, the ULTERA data ecosystem (https://phaseslab.com/ultera) will be discussed, and the design of heterostructured refractory alloys and their properties will be presented. |
