Abstract Scope |
Additive Manufacturing Evaporative Casting (AMEC) is a new hybrid manufacturing process that merges polymer 3D printing with lost foam investment casting. By combining these two processes the benefits of both can be achieved: speed, complex geometries, digital toolingless nature of additive manufacturing, and the low cost, scalability, and easier qualification of casting. This talk will cover specific use cases as well as a recent America Makes project to develop AMEC in nickel based superalloys for use in forging dies. |
