Abstract Scope |
Alumina concentration is critical in aluminium smelting, influencing cell voltage and current efficiency. Reliable estimation of alumina concentration can improve alumina feedrate control and reduce the risk of anode effects and sludge formation. However, routine anode changes induce disruptions, causing model uncertainties that degrade the accuracy of conventional estimation results. To address these challenges, this work proposes an improved state estimation method that incorporates anode current pickup rates and anode height dynamics to more accurately capture the current density changes during anode setting. Validation with experimental data demonstrates that the proposed method improves the accuracy of alumina concentration estimation during anode changes, supporting more reliable process monitoring and control. |
