Silver nanowire (AgNWs)/PDMS transparent conductive films (TCFs) are promising for flexible electronic and electrothermal devices. However, their electrothermal performance is evaluated by sheet resistance, despite the percolative nature of Ag NW networks. In this study, AgNWs/PDMS films with different network architectures were fabricated through microstructural design, and their Joule heating behavior and electrothermal stability were investigated. It shows that electrothermal response is governed not only by sheet resistance, but also by network uniformity, junction organization, and pathway connectivity. In particular, the scaffolded cross-linked network forms uniform current pathways and promotes homogeneous junction-based Joule heating, enabling rapid heating to ~41°C at an ultralow voltage of 0.6V. This structure also achieves about 1.5 times higher heating efficiency with only one-third of the material usage. These findings clarify how network microstructure regulates current transport and local Joule heating in percolative Ag NW networks, offering useful guidelines for improving the electrothermal stability of TCFs. |
