| Abstract Scope |
Temperature uniformity during continuous heat treatment is essential for controlling the mechanical properties and dimensional stability of high-Mg Al-Mg sheet alloys for future mobility applications. This study investigates the thermal response of 5xxx Al-Mg aluminum sheets during continuous heat treatment using different heating configurations, including fluidized-bed media and high-frequency induction heating. Temperature histories were measured at multiple positions across the sheet to evaluate through-width and through-thickness thermal uniformity. A numerical heat-treatment model was developed to predict transient temperature distribution under various process conditions, and the simulation results were validated by comparison with experimentally measured temperature data. The verified model was then combined with an artificial-intelligence-based optimization framework to identify process conditions that minimize temperature deviation while improving heating efficiency. This approach enables data-driven control of continuous heat treatment and provides a practical route for developing uniform, high-quality Al-Mg sheet products for lightweight mobility components. |
