| Abstract Scope |
In an aluminum smelter, abnormal cell voltage was observed in one of the electrolysis cells. After inspection and measurement, it was determined that poor contact had occurred at the welded joints of the inter‑cell busbars. To address this issue, a busbar welding method involving a one‑hour power‑off of the single cell was adopted, and a temporary conductive connection device was designed as needed to transmit the series current during the welding operation. This method ensured the normal operation of the series production while the inter‑cell busbars were being welded, and at the same time reduced the influence of the magnetic field, thereby providing a basis for ensuring welding quality. After the welding was completed, the electrolysis cell was restored to normal production status in a short time by adjusting the process parameters. |
