Abstract Scope |
Aerosol jet printing (AJP) enables the high-resolution deposition of a variety of materials for printed electronics applications. We developed AJP processes to pattern < 50 µm width lines consisting of single walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Despite the high theoretical electrical conductivity of individual CNTs, the applicability of CNTs to electronics is limited by the high nanotube-to-nanotube resistance and the tendency for CNTs to deposit in a disordered configuration. To increase the conductivity, we evaluated the effectiveness of post-processing the AJP CNT lines with forming gas annealing, pulse laser annealing, halide doping, and electric field structuring. Structural and chemical changes to CNTs after post processing and aging were measured by Raman spectroscopy and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. SNL is managed and operated by NTESS under DOE NNSA contract DE-NA0003525. SAND2025-04920A |
