| Abstract Scope |
The Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) at Hanford is commissioning its Low-Activity Waste (LAW) facility to vitrify supernatant from tank waste separation, representing approximately 90% of tank waste by volume. Capture of volatile mercury and I-129 in the Carbon Adsorber units remains under assessment due to the complexity and variability in the off-gas stream. This presentation will focus on the results from static and flowing capture studies with elemental and oxidized mercury species. Carbon and oxide-based sorbents will be discussed. |
