Abstract Scope Real-time health monitoring through wearable technologies offers a promising approach to personal health management by enabling the detection of conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer via exosomes carried in the eye fluid. This research focuses on developing sensorized contact lenses using aerosol jet printing (AJP) technology. AJP allows for the precise deposition of conductive inks onto a polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) substrate, a material historically been used in contact lenses. The study involves optimizing parameters such as atomizer voltage, gas flows, platen temperature, and print speed to print components such as an interdigitated capacitor. We assess the microstructural and electrical properties following thermal curing, particularly the adhesion and conductivity of the ink on PMMA. Current efforts aim to refine these parameters for effective sensor integration, with future work focusing on adapting the process to a curved contact lens-like substrate and establishing ideal sintering conditions.
