Abstract Scope |
Neodymium has recently gained significant interest due to its important role in electric vehicles, permanent magnets, and energy storage systems. In this study, Neodymium(Nd) and cobalt (Co) co-deposition was conducted in urea-choline chloride ionic liquid containing cobalt chloride and neodymium chloride. Electrodeposition was carried out at a temperature of 373K under an applied potential of -3.5V, resulting in a current density of 111A/m2. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed the formation of the Nd-Co phase on the cathode surface. The morphology and elemental composition were examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS).SEM images suggested a flat, uniform Co-Nd film with a coarse-grained structure. The results demonstrate successful co-deposition of Co-Nd in urea-ChCl eutectic solvent. |
