| Abstract Scope |
Recently, a mixture of disordered BCC and ordered B2 phases within the realm of high-entropy concept has been highly sought after especially in the case of refractory compositions with the aim to emulate the γ-γ' type microstructure to meet ever-increasing demand for new materials with enhanced properties at high temperatures. This talk will primarily address high temperature mechanical properties and deformation substructures in a multicomponent TiZrAlTa based alloy except in this case, the alloy has disordered bcc precipitates embedded in an ordered, B2 matrix, termed here as ‘inverted superalloy-like microstructure via spinodal decomposition. The talk will address the development of microstructures taylored towards high temperature mechanical properties and deformation substructures in response to plastic response of this alloy at high temperatures. |
